When One Door Closes

Poem of
The Day

When One Door Closes

I know that people say,
"When one door closes another one opens",
But it's that time between the first door closing,
And the second door opening that bothers me.

That time when you are stuck,
In a long, dark, lonely empty space,
Waiting for the door to open,
Not sure when, or if, it will.

When all the fears and dangers of your imagination,
Come lurking from the dark recesses of your mind.
To torment and undermine you.

So when the door finally does open,
Sometimes you feel trapped,
Paralysed by your own fear,
Unable to walk towards the open door,
For fear of what may be beyond it.

And thus, you are sentenced to an eternity,
In the black nothingness of your minds fear.
